Seventy-two local high school students will spend the next four weeks on campus as part of a college access and enrichment program.

Students from the departments of health and human performance and education received scholarships, professional awards and special recognition to celebrate their academic achievements, scholarship, engaged learning and service to the profession and the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ community.

School of Education and teacher education graduates in the Class of 2012 have already begun to make their impact across the world.

Jeff Carpenter, assistant professor of education, gave a presentation titled "Shared Classroom Experiences" at the Nation Science Foundation's Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program Conference in Washington, D.C. on May 25.

A newly minted ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ alumna used a service trip to Honduras to bolster her lessons this spring as a student teacher in a local high school.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ leaders celebrated on May 14 the achievement of every member of the Gamma Class attending college in the fall.

Senior Lecturer Resa Walch, Associate Professor Carol Smith, Assistant Professor Amy Stringer and several students participated in engaged learning and service activities during the fall semester and winter term.
