ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ welcomed dozens of Alamance County high school scholars to campus midday Monday with a special College Coffee for students enrolled in the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Academy, an intensive three-year college access and success program for talented local teenagers with financial need or no family history of attending college.

It wasn’t enough for Victoria “Tory” Hill to simply show up for student teaching, give her lessons, and then go home. For the Spanish major who graduates Saturday from ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ, time spent this spring at Eastern Guilford High School will benefit students for years because of her initiative to support Spanish speakers in a school with few resources to help them better learn their native language.

School of Education celebrates Kappa Delta Pi honor society inductees

On May 5, the School of Education honored the academic excellence of 23 undergraduate and 18 graduate students as they were inducted into the Sigma Gamma chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society in education. KDP was founded in 1911 by leading thinkers in education at the University of Illinois. Since that time, it has grown to an international organization of over 60,000 members.
