The Alamance-Burlington School System Honors Institute at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ, a collaborative effort between the school system and ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ, is providing a summer enrichment experience for talented and motivated students.

On Monday, June 18, the Master of Education Program welcomed a new cohort to the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ campus that includes eight studying gifted education and three studying elementary education.

Jeffrey Carpenter, associate professor of education and director of the Teaching Fellows program, co-authored the article in the peer-reviewed journal Teaching and Teacher Education.

The School of Education will host an orientation for the inaugural cohort of the M.A. in Higher Education program on Aug. 8-10, 2018.

Members of the M.A. in Higher Education cohort will join Bryan Dewsbury in an educational discussion to better address questions of equity and community-building on Aug. 16. 

Students enrolled in teacher education courses have the opportunity to work closely with the local schools and community agencies through a variety of partnerships. On Oct. 4, the School of Education will host an orientation for all clinical teachers to learn more about the mission, goals, and expectations of clinical experiences.

The School of Education will welcome new students into the Teacher Education Program during an induction ceremony on Sept. 20, 2018.

​Teacher candidates who will complete their ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ student teaching experience at Alamance-Burlington School System in the spring will attend a seminar titled "Effective Teacher Training."

Three members of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Class of 2018 and a recent alumna are among 10 ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students selected for Fulbright awards this year — a record for the university. 

A record 11 ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students and alums have been awarded Fulbright grants this spring to teach English or conduct research, adding to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s reputation as a top producer of Fulbright award winners.
