Barnett, associate provost for academic and inclusive excellence at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ, was one of eight new directors named to the national organization’s board.

For the fourth straight year, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ places in the top 20 of the full Hearst Journalism Awards.

Stephanie Hays '18 was honored for her design work. Two other students were named national finalists in the same contest.

For their efforts organizing the SPJ Region 2 conference, Associate Professor Anthony Hatcher and Director of Student Media Colin Donohue were named the organization's Members of the Month.

The Society of Professional Journalists Region 2 gathering featured the Mark of Excellence Awards results, of which several ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students were winners.

The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ yearbook staff invited Jen Bladen, a professional consultant, to campus on Feb. 4 to discuss design principles, publication trends and marketing strategies.  

A pair of communications faculty members and a senior discussed the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ News Network, which was recognized with several awards at the College Media Association gathering.
