Several student groups have organized programs from Feb. 18-23 to showcase the impact and importance of diversity in the legal profession.

The former U.S. Attorney General will speak at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law in Greensboro on Thursday, Feb. 28. 

Haley Lohr and Cody Jones from the Class of 2019 finished in the "elite eight" at the J. Braxton Craven, Jr. Memorial Moot Court Competition hosted by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Board members ensure the availability of multiple pro bono and community service opportunities to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law students, and services for community members with limited access to legal assistance. 

In a visit sponsored by the Office of Academic Success, Dr. William Kraus of the Duke Molecular Physiology Institute offered suggestions to nearly 100 ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law students for finding success in class, exceling on the bar exam, and maintaining a healthier lifestyle.

Encouraged to “be brave for who you will become,” African-American students in ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s Class of 2018 were celebrated by family, friends, faculty and staff in a kente-donning program preceding Commencement.

The David Gergen Award for Leadership & Professionalism, bestowed each year at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law’s Commencement, recognizes one student in the graduating class who embodies the highest levels of selfless leadership and service.

Graduates in ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s Class of 2018 were recognized with school and professional honors for advocacy, legal writing and research, academic excellence, and excellence in service.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law conferred 102 degrees in a Commencement ceremony that featured an address by North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein, who reminded graduates of their duty to seek justice and to protect the rule of law in troubling times.

Josh Stein, the state of North Carolina's top attorney, will address graduates in the Class of 2018 in a December 15 program inside ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's Alumni Gym.
