ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law student Gerard Truesdale is featured in the American Bar Association’s Student Lawyer magazine for creating and operating a nonprofit that provides high school students with life skills and pathways to higher education. 

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law recognized the achievements of thirteen students who completed the Law School’s academic requirements for graduation in the fall 2015 semester.

Fifty-six ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law students participated in the Innocence Project this semester, reviewing credible claims of innocence by individuals convicted of crimes in North Carolina. 

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s Moot Court Board is pleased to announce the 22 students who have been selected for membership on the Board.

The online ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Business Law Journal today published an article titled "The Effect of New Tax Regulations on Hydraulic Fracturing in North Carolina" by Austin Raymond, a member of the Class of 2016 at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law. 

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law's Pro Bono Week, held Oct. 26-29, spotlighted students and others who volunteer their time to address legal needs of those who would not otherwise be able to access legal assistance. 

Lizzy Coltrane, Jocelyne Riehl and Megan Boorsma were quarterfinalists at the Fifteenth Annual Leroy R. Hassell, Sr. National Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition at Regent University School of Law on October 16-17.  The team also won awards for Best Petitioner’s Brief and Best Overall Brief in the competition.  

Several students from ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s Moot Court Board had the opportunity to observe oral arguments before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit on Wednesday, Oct. 7.  

Alexandria Hall and Jennifer LaBeau won the final round of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s Eighth Annual Intramural Moot Court Competition. Gonzalo Ventura and Meghan Smith also competed in the final round. Ventura was named “Best Oralist from the Final Round” and “Best Oralist from the Preliminary Rounds.” The team of Leah Britt and James Capps took “Best Brief” honors.
