Foundation gift funds engagement initiative for incoming Jewish students

In an effort to welcome new students to campus and through the support of an anonymous gift to the university, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Hillel this summer launched a pilot project where a trio of student interns reached out to dozens of incoming freshmen with the goal of engaging them in the growing Jewish life on campus.

McBride, Herbert, Perkins receive ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Medallions

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ chaplain emeritus Richard McBride, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ trustee Dr. William N.P Herbert ’68 and retired vice president Nan Perkins received ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Medallions on Aug. 22, 2011, in an annual ceremony that celebrates the highest honor the university bestows on individuals for their meritorious service to the institution.

Multi-faith Center to use wood from fallen trees

Two trees that towered over ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ for decades were felled Wednesday morning, and the dried wood from both will be featured in the future Numen-Lumen Pavilion, which will house a multi-faith center planned for the very site in the Academic Village where the giant oaks once stood.
