ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ practices a holistic admission review. Below are the requirements for admission to the program. Students can apply for a program on the Charlotte campus or the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ campus. Each application term begins in the fall and operates on a cohort model.
Admission Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
- Official Transcripts from all colleges/universities with a preferred minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Three Letters of Recommendation (academic and/or professional)
- Personal Statement
- Resume of CV highlighting relevant experience

*ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ is in the process of adding our Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program to our I-17, and is currently unable to issue F-1 student visas for the fall 2026 term. The admissions process for the M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ is both competitive and selective, reflecting the program’s commitment to academic excellence and professional readiness in the counseling field. The program is designed to ensure that applicants are both academically prepared and personally suited for graduate-level training in the counseling profession. Applicants hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 for consideration. As part of the application process, candidates must submit official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended to verify academic preparation and performance. Three letters of recommendation from academic and/or professional references are required and evaluated using standardized rubrics to assess the applicant’s academic potential, professional readiness, and interpersonal skills.
A personal statement of 2–3 pages must also be submitted, in which applicants articulate their motivation for entering the counseling profession, relevant personal and professional experiences, long-term career goals, and how ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s program aligns with their aspirations. The statement is reviewed for clarity, reflection, and alignment with the mission of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. A current resume or curriculum vitae (CV) is also required, detailing academic background, professional and volunteer experience, and involvement in counseling or related fields. This is assessed for alignment with core counseling competencies. Applicants who meet the admission requirements are invited to participate in a virtual admissions interview, which serves as a key component in assessing professionalism, self-awareness, communication skills, and counselor disposition. Through this comprehensive and holistic admissions process, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ ensures that students admitted to the M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program are well-prepared to succeed academically and contribute meaningfully to the counseling profession.
