From blogs hosted by The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal to appearances on statewide news channel News 14 Carolina and NPR affiliate WUNC 91.5 FM, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ faculty, students and alumni continued making news this summer for their research and service both on campus and around the nation.

6/24: The (Fort Myers, Fla.) News-Press: profiled work by Lars Bredahl’s as part of his iMedia studies at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ. Bredahl graduated in May.
7/10: (Greensboro, N.C.) News & Record: was a monthly business leadership column by professor emeritus David Noer, who wrote about the need to separate the commemoration of soldiers who die in wars from the politics & motivations of those who planned them. 7/12: News 14 Carolina: includes an interview with professor Chalmers Brumbaugh in a story on student involvement with the Democratic National Convention to be hosted in Charlotte in 2012.
7/13: (Jacksonville, N.C.) Daily News and the (Burlington, N.C.) Times-News: is a staff editorial lauding ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ for its plans to fund national Teaching Fellows after state support for the program ends in 2012.
7/13: YES! Weekly: included observations on rail travel by Kevin Otos in the Department of Performing Arts.
7/14: WUNC 91.5 (NPR affiliate): reports on a revised Teaching Fellows offering that the university created after the state ended the program in recent budget cuts.
7/15: The Gazette (Montgomery County, Md.): profiles the work of Alex Pepper ’11, who will join the cast of a touring production of the critically acclaimed musical performance.
7/18: (Burlington, N.C.) Times-News: recaps the 2011 summer component of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Academy college access and enrichment program organized by ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ.

8/2: Wall Street Journal: was a post on the Journal’s “The Juggle” blog, which cited research by ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ professors Steve DeLoach and Tina Das on grooming.
