The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ has received a “gold ranking” in OUT for Work’s Career Center Certification Program.
is the first program designed to assess the quality, quantity and availability of career resource materials for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer students. Career centers are ranked as gold, silver or bronze based on the results of the CCCP survey.
The primary goal of the CCCP is to provide academic institutions and students with an evaluation of the support available to LGBTQ students facing employment and workplace challenges.
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Student Professional Development Center provides an online list of resources covering inclusive company job posts, internship leads and opportunities, company/employer research links and more.
Ross Wade, assistant director of Career Services for the School of Communications, and René Jackson, career adviser for graduate school programs, are Safe Zone trained. Wade has presented on LGBTQ student career needs at a state conference and is experienced with counseling LGBTQ students as they navigate the career process. Wade also assists the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ LGBTQ office with social media needs and events promoting inclusion.
All ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Student Professional Development Center staff are happy to assist the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ LGBTQ student population with their unique career issues as well.
