ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Day, the university’s annual day of giving, will take place tomorrow, Thursday, March 5. This day is an opportunity for the worldwide ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ community to come together and make an impact on the lives of current and future ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students. Now in its seventh year, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Day encourages engagement and philanthropy among all members of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s global community. This year’s theme is All in for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ, signifying the greater collective impact the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ community can make by coming together to support the university.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Day officially began in 2014 as part of the university’s 125th anniversary celebration. Since then, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Day’s momentum and impact have grown year after year. Last year donors made history with 6,376 gifts totaling more than $2.3 million. Donors were able to make gifts toward specific areas of campus that mean the most to them, including areas such as student scholarships, academic schools and departments, and the Phoenix Club (ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Athletics), among other causes. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Day gifts of all sizes and designations will count toward this year’s total, and, for the first time ever, donors will be able to use Venmo (@ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵGiving) in addition to the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Day website to make their gifts.
The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ community can also participate in ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Day events on campus and around the world:
On-campus events
- 9:40 – 10:20 a.m.: Come to a special ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Day College Coffee (yes, on a Thursday!) in Alumni Gym.
- 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Visit Let’s Taco ‘Bout Philanthropy in Moseley Center to win a free taco.
- 5:30 – 7 p.m.: Stop by ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Day Hoopla to play arcade games, get free food and win amazing prizes in Schar Center.
- 7 p.m.: Cheer on the Phoenix at the women’s basketball game vs. James Madison University in Schar Center.
- 7:30 p.m.: All seniors are invited to attend the Senior Toast in Lakeside Meeting Rooms hosted by the Senior Class Giving Committee.
- 10:30 p.m.: Come win fun prizes at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Day Bingo in Lakeside Dining Hall, sponsored by the Student Union Board.
- All Day: Enjoy special ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Day-themed meals and snacks with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Dining. More info here – .
In addition, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Day events for alumni will take place in more than 40 cities around the world. These events will bring the momentum of the day directly to the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ alumni network.
