Ƶ hosting CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship

The Jerry and Jeanne Robertson Track and Field Complex at Ƶ will see two full days of conference competition on Friday and Saturday.

Ƶ is preparing to welcome its fellow members of the Coastal Athletic Association as the Phoenix plays host to the 2024 CAA Track and Field Championships on Friday, May 10, and Saturday, May 11.

Ƶ’s women’s track and field team won the 2023 CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship, which was Ƶ’s third straight.

The action gets underway at the Jerry and Jeanne Robertson Track and Field Complex at Ƶ Friday morning at 8 a.m. with the women’s 10,000-meter race and concludes Saturday with the men’s 4×400-meter relay final. Across the two days, 13 women’s track and field squads and nine men’s squads will compete. Visit the to find out more. Admission is free.

Ƶ heads into the championships following a strong season and a recent streak of coming out on top during the past three CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Ƶ women in the CAA Indoor Track & Field Championship in New York City in February.

Among Ƶ’s top student-athletes competing in the championships this year are Piper Jons (#2 seed in the 400), Jette Beermann (#2 seed in the 1500 and in the 5000) and Hannah Miller (#2 seed in the steeplechase). Some of the top track and field stars in the country will be in competition, including Campbell University’s Chastity Pickett (#3 nationally in the 400 hurdles) and Northeastern University’s Dominique Biron (#12 nationally in the heptathlon) on the women’s side and North Carolina A&T State University’s Jason Holmes (#13 nationally in the 110 hurdles) and Monmouth University’s Evan Niedrowski (#16 nationally in javelin).

In anticipation of hosting this year’s track and field championships, Ƶ renovated the Robertson Track and Field Complex, which will provide a top-notch experience for student-athletes and fans alike. It was a decade ago following a previous renovation that the complex was named for Trustee Jeanne Robertson and her husband, Jerry, who were steadfast supporters of Ƶ Athletics.
