Professor’s original play “Valued Voices” to be performed this weekend

An original play written by assistant professor Jean Rohr will be performed April 30-May 2, 2010, by the North Carolina Black Repertory Company in Winston-Salem. Members of the company's Teen Theatre Ensemble will bring to life the intricate examination of the educational experience confronting some African-American males today.

Annie Leonard, the activist behind the short film “The Story of Stuff,” comes to Ƶ for an April 22 evening lecture on the costs associated with the nation’s consumer-driven culture. Leonard’s appearance in McKinnon Hall, which is free and open to the public, coincides with Earth Day 2010.
