A noted architectural historian and an interior designer for historic preservation visited campus this week to study the construction materials, design and technique of a pre-Civil War schoolhouse that the university hopes to restore.

Twenty rising juniors and seniors traveled to Charlotte on April 23 to visit Wells Fargo Bank and Bank of America for an exclusive banking/finance industry trip sponsored by ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Career Services and the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business.

The best and brightest of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business were honored April 29 in an afternoon awards ceremony that highlighted the achievements of both students and faculty.

Robert Hackett ’12 participated in the seventh National Monitoring Conference in Denver from April 25-29, 2010, where he presented results from his research project “Tracking the Impact of Land Use and Sustainable Practices on Lake Water Quality."

Student leaders from a variety of academic disciplines were honored April 29 at the annual Omicron Delta Kappa awards ceremony in Whitley Auditorium, an annual ceremony that coincides with CELEBRATE! week. ODK recognizes students who have provided outstanding leadership in their junior or senior years, and who have maintained high academic performance.

Phil Miller, a lecturer in human services studies, recently made a presentation titled “Marital Therapy and Combat Stress/PTSD: Understanding the Impact on Marriage” to the Family Advocacy Conference in San Antonio, Texas.

The annual Spring Undergraduate Research Forum on April 27, 2010, promoted and celebrated work from more than 100 students who made presentations about their scholarship in disciplines as diverse as psychology, exercise science, chemistry, public relations and economics.
