The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi welcomed its newest initiates, selected for membership from the upper 7.5 percent of the junior class and upper 10 percent of the senior and graduate classes, in an April 26 formal ceremony in McKinnon Hall.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ trustee Frank R. Lyon ’71 and his wife, Natalie Lyon, of New Canaan, Conn., longtime supporters of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Academy, have made a major gift for the creation of an endowed scholarship that will aid graduates of the college enrichment program for high school students in Alamance County.

Nearly two out of three state residents support drilling for oil and gas off the North Carolina coast, according to the latest ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Poll, and three quarters of citizens would support the increase of federal funds for research on wind, solar and hydrogen technology.

Students present at National Conference on Undergraduate Research

Forty-five ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ students presented original research April 15-17 at the 24th annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research at the University of Montana. It was the largest number of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ students to ever make presentations at the same NCUR program.
