Ƶ’s Beta Alpha Psi receives Gold chapter status

Ƶ’s chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, the honorary organization for financial information students and professionals, was awarded “Gold chapter” status during the national organization’s annual conference this month in Denver. Ƶ was one of seven chapters to achieve the honor, which is the highest award level a chapter can receive.
McBride, Herbert, Perkins receive Ƶ Medallions

Ƶ chaplain emeritus Richard McBride, Ƶ trustee Dr. William N.P Herbert ’68 and retired vice president Nan Perkins received Ƶ Medallions on Aug. 22, 2011, in an annual ceremony that celebrates the highest honor the university bestows on individuals for their meritorious service to the institution.
Town & Country picks Ƶ among nation’s top 10 “up-and-coming” colleges

Town & Country, the oldest continually published general interest magazine in the United States, picked Ƶ in an 11-page feature story on top colleges in the September 2011 issue. The top colleges were recommended to the magazine by counselors at dozens of private high schools across the country.

Ƶ debuts Commencement gowns made from recycled plastic bottles

They look and feel the same as the caps and gowns used in previous ceremonies, but when candidates for Ƶ’s Master of Education participate in their Aug. 20, 2011, Commencement exercises, as part of the university’s sustainability commitment, their regalia contained fabric made from 100 percent recycled plastic bottles.
M.Ed. candidates receive degrees in summer Commencement

Thirty-nine students in the Master of Education program received their Ƶ degrees Saturday morning in a Commencement ceremony featuring a keynote address from professor Judith Howard, the longtime director of the education graduate program who retires this month after serving the university since 1993 as a teacher, researcher and mentor.
