ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Community Service Officer Kenneth Herron died at his home in ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ on July 29 after a long battle with cancer. He began as a part-time member of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Campus Safety and Police staff in 2000 and moved to full-time work in 2015.

The training at Alamance Community College gave law enforcement officers and emergency response teams from across Alamance County the opportunity to get hands-on experience during live active shooter scenarios.

The northbound lane will be closed from Phoenix Drive to University Drive beginning June 27.

The stretch of East Haggard Avenue that runs through ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's campus will close at 7 p.m. on May 23 and reopen at 9 p.m. on May 24.

The closure is necessary for the repaving of the North O'Kelly Avenue intersection.

The test of the outdoor alarm and emergency alert systems by ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Campus Safety and Police will take place at 10 a.m. and will last about three minutes.
