A partnership through the university’s college access and success program has allowed high school scholars from the Indian state of Kerala to take part in a month-long international exchange.

High school students in the university’s college access and success program met Thursday with current ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students taking part in the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience.

Local high school students in the university’s college access and success program moved to campus over the weekend for a month of classes and activities that will help them pursue dreams of a college degree.

The associate professor of education received the 2013 Periclean Award for Civic Engagement and Social Responsibility for her work to improve the literacy skills of children struggling with reading.

Darris Means ’05 was recognized at a ceremony on May 9, 2013, as the Outstanding Alumnus of the Masters Student Affairs Program at Clemson University. 

Local children who receive help learning to read from ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students were part of a Sunday musical performance in Whitley Auditorium.
 

Vidal Morales-Santos is the third ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Academy participant in the past four years to receive an award that covers his full college expenses.

The group was led by an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ alumna who inspires her young students to plan for and then pursue a college education.
