In a partnership with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's community partner Crossroads and with the support of an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's Kermode Center Community Partnership Initiative grant, a Human Service Studies Department professor and her students presented a film series on sexual assault, child abuse, and human trafficking in the United States, as part of an ongoing community outreach program addressing these critical global issues locally.

The statewide coalition of colleges and universities also recognized an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ student with its Community Impact Award for leadership and service. 

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ faculty joins a diverse community of scholars promoting community health. The capacity-building activity was organized by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's New Connection program in Denver at the end of October 2016.

Leadership scholars gather as a cohort for workshops and seminars designed to focus on issues related to leadership pedagogy. 

The second annual Undergraduate Public Health Research Collaboration was held at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ on Friday, Sept. 23, and brought together students and faculty from ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ, Davidson College and Furman University. 

Professor Carmen Monico's work in Guatemala was funded through a Core Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award.

The grant will allow the associate professor of education to work with two ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ professors on finding strategies that are helpful, culturally relevant and easy for families to use to foster their infant's language development.

Anita Bryant, Grace Landsberg and Zachary (Zack) Czajkowski presented a quilt made by survivors of sexual abuse and assault to the Burlington City Council April 5.

Students volunteer two nights a week during the fall and spring semesters: Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
