Members of the Class of 2011 at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Law welcomed family members and friends to the law school on May 21 to celebrate achievements of the class on the eve of commencement ceremonies. Joined by the faculty and staff of the law school and the leadership of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ, members of the class were recognized for pro bono service, leadership in law, and contributions to nonprofit organizations and law offices at regional, national, and international levels.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Law professor Andy Haile delivered a presentation at the J. Nelson Young Tax Institute at the University of North Carolina School of Law on April 29. Haile's presentation reviewed North Carolina's state budget challenges and a range of recently enacted and proposed tax reforms in states across the nation.

Henry Gabriel advances international commercial law through scholarship and service

In recent months, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Law professor Henry Gabriel presented on the history and future of the Uniform Commercial Code at a symposium of the South Texas College of Law, delivered a lecture on the UNIDROIT Model Leasing Law in Beijing, China before the Chinese Banking Association at the request of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, and completed service as Chairman of the Editorial Committee of the 2010 Edition of the UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts.
