Three former chief justices of the North Carolina Supreme Court - today members of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law Board of Advisors - shared personal and career stories to new students enrolled in an August legal leadership class.

With help from the university's Humanitarian Immigration Law Clinic, Y Srai achieved a longtime goal on Aug. 19, 2016, when he took the Oath of Allegiance to the United States of America. 

The school's Faculty Leadership Fellow shared with national leaders in engaged learning about ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law's Leadership Fellows Program and the way experiential education is integrated into the classroom.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law’s associate dean for experiential learning and leadership took part in a panel discussion on leadership education at a symposium hosted by the University of Tennessee College of Law.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law has added five accomplished lawyers to its national advisory board, bringing insight from decades of experience in an array of law practice areas to advance the Law School’s groundbreaking approach to legal education. 

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law's U.S. veterans, including students, faculty, staff and alumni, were recognized for their service at a Law School luncheon on Veteran's Day, Nov. 11. 

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law presented Leslie J. Winner, executive director of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, with the Law School’s highest professional honor, the Leadership in the Law Award, recognizing Winner’s significant contributions to law, the legal profession and society. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Dean Luke Bierman presented the award in Charlotte, N.C. at a luncheon forum attended by lawyer-leaders from across North Carolina.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law welcomed 13 new Leadership Fellows and recognized the professional accomplishments of 14 returning fellows at a Sept. 2 evening reception.

Speaking Sept. 1 with first-year law students, three former Chief Justices of the North Carolina Supreme Court, all founding ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law advisory board members, shared insights on judicial process, professionalism and leadership. 

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s Distinguished Leadership Lecture Series presented by The Joseph M. Bryan Foundation will feature two-term Michigan governor Jennifer Granholm, New York Times Supreme Court correspondent Adam Liptak and ESPN broadcaster and attorney Jay Bilas.
