Speakers at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s seventh annual Martin Luther King Jr. forum encouraged lawyers and law students to stand tall in their actions to address civil and political rights both in law school and in their legal careers.

Law students working on legal recommendations to transform how condemned and vacant homes are revitalized were featured Jan. 6 on WGHP Fox 8 News.  

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law Dean Luke Bierman presented Mark Martin, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of North Carolina, with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s highest professional honor, the Leadership in the Law Award, recognizing Martin’s significant contributions to law, the legal profession and society.

The third edition of the online Journal of Leadership and the Law, published October 1, highlights a recent publication of John Alexander, former President of the Center for Creative Leadership and Distinguished Leadership Coach In Residence at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ is one of five law schools profiled for “getting serious about business skills” in the National Law Journal’s September 23 special report on law schools. 

At a September 18 luncheon in Raleigh, N.C., hosted by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly and ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law, law school dean George R. Johnson, Jr. presented The Hon. Charles L. Becton with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s 2013 Leadership in the Law Award.

Eight members of the Class of 2016 have been selected as Leadership Fellows at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law. Two members of the Class of 2015 have joined the Fellows program as well, bringing the total number of student and alumni Leadership Fellows to 46.

The Leadership Program at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law has been named a 2013 recipient of the American Bar Association’s E. Smythe Gambrell Professionalism Award. 

First-year ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law students engaged in leadership education through the law school's nationally unique Lawyering, Leadership and Professionalism course during Winter Term.
