Eric Hall, associate professor of exercise science, and Angela Passarelli and Mallory Anderson, former directors of leadership, recently co-authored a research article in a special issue of the Journal of Experiential Education.

Campus Technologies held its 3rd annual Connected @ ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ event on Aug. 29, 2010, during New Student Orientation. Created to help incoming students learn about the technology available to them on campus, the theme of this year’s show was Family Feud.

With stories of alumni who left ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ this spring to launch ambitious careers, and advice from administrators on engaging with the world as global citizens, New Student Convocation on Aug. 28 brought together freshmen who gathered as the Class of 2014 for the first time Under the Oaks of campus.

Students now have expanded e-mail capability as a result of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's partnership with Google. All student e-mail accounts have been converted to Google’s web-based e-mail service, Gmail. The conversion took place on June 1 and required no action from students. Returning students' e-mail addresses (student@elon.edu) and passwords remain the same. Inbox contents, including calendar appointments and contacts, were automatically transferred to the new Gmail accounts.

The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Center for Leadership, in cooperation with the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Center for Public Affairs, has concluded its first series of summer workshops and training events at the 4th annual International Human Rights Law Summer Study in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Three ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students won top awards last week for their performance in the moot court competition at the 4th annual International Human Rights Law Summer Study in Vilnius, Lithuania, a program co-sponsored by the university’s Center for Public Affairs.

College is the beginning of many new experiences. Challenges such as living on your own, sharing a room, deciding a major, and meeting new friends aren’t always as easy as they seem. By scrambling over rocks on an 8.8 mile hike, canoeing six miles down a river, and helping preserve and maintain trails in the Shenandoah River State Park, 20 incoming students chose to jump start their college experience in a positive way.
