Hand dryers in local middle school bathrooms would be better for the environment than paper towels. Additional electives would keep students from getting bored in class. New textbooks and laptops would be nice, too. Local seventh graders shared ideas Wednesday to strengthen their school communities as part of an annual youth leadership program at ������Ƶ.

Student leaders from a variety of academic disciplines were honored April 29 at the annual Omicron Delta Kappa awards ceremony in Whitley Auditorium, an annual ceremony that coincides with CELEBRATE! week. ODK recognizes students who have provided outstanding leadership in their junior or senior years, and who have maintained high academic performance.

The Center for Leadership will be hosting a series of events this month during its 2nd annual LEADStrong week to celebrate leadership within the ������Ƶ community. The week recognizes various aspects of leadership that ������Ƶ leaders exemplify on campus.

������Ƶ's Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society welcomed its 2010 inductees in a Feb. 7 afternoon ceremony in McKinnon Hall. Students are juniors or seniors in the top 35 percent of their class who have been in residence at least one semester, and who have exhibited outstanding leadership in more than one area of the university community.
