In her annual video message to the university community as a new academic prepares to begin, President Connie Ledoux Book talks about the year ahead and the university's future.

Weaver, associate dean of the School of Communications and professor of sport management, will be a member of the senior staff and will provide strategic leadership and support for the academic and curricular development of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Regional Centers, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ President Connie Ledoux Book presented the medallion to a longtime member of the university's Board of Trustees and a retired staff member during an event marking the start of a new academic year. The university also recognized three named professorships during the event.

Faculty and staff gathered Monday to celebrate the beginning of the 2023-24 academic year.

The June 20 event reinforced the connection between past, present and future generations of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ community studying and succeeding on the West Coast.

With live music, prize drawings and free refreshments, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ showed its appreciation to its staff, faculty and community with the Summer Concert and Picnic.

Gaither, an accomplished teacher and scholar, has been a member of the school’s faculty for nearly two decades and has served as interim dean since 2022.
