Beginning this fall, alumni and parents are being encouraged to join the ������Ƶ Career Network (ECN), a new resource offered through ������Ƶ Career Services that allows students to connect with ������Ƶ alumni, parents and other supporters by using an online database that can be searched by profession, major, graduate degrees and current home location.

In the midst of the worst American financial crisis in decades, the next president of the United States faces decisions sure to impact future generations, according to Jonathan Alter, a nationally recognized political commentator and author on campus Sept. 29 for a lecture sponsored by the Liberal Arts Forum and the School of Communications.

Family Weekend will be held Sept. 26-28 on ������Ƶ’s campus. Activities include a golf tournament, concerts and the ������Ƶ vs. Samford football game.

������Ƶ School of Law hosted its first "Family and Friends Day" on Sept. 13, 2008, with more than 250 students, parents, siblings, spouses, and friends spending the morning at the law school for a mock class and a question-and-answer panel.

Parents, grandparents and members of the ������Ƶ community are invited to hear nationally known humorist Jeanne Robertson perform on Friday, Sept. 26, as part of Family Weekend 2008. 

������Ƶ earns a top national ranking in a new feature included in the 2009 U.S. News & World Report “America’s Best Colleges” guide. The magazine named ������Ƶ the top "School to Watch" in a listing of colleges and universities that have made “striking improvements or innovations – schools everyone should be watching.”
