The longtime School of Education faculty member served ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ in retirement as its official university decorator. The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Medallion recipient, whose career included time as a school teacher and principal, witnessed firsthand pivotal moments in North Carolina history.

The assistant professor of education presented on the Edcamp model of professional learning and digital backchanneling at the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development Annual Conference in Houston, Texas, from March 21-23.

Jenna Gilder, senior early childhood minor and psychology major, presented a poster at the Southeastern Psychological Association (SEPA) conference in Hilton Head, SC on March 19, 2015, along with Heidi Hollingsworth, Assistant Professor of Education and Program Coordinator for Early Childhood Education.

Jean Rattigan-Rohr, associate professor and director of the Center of Access and Success, Ye He, an associate professor from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and Michele Meredith, from the East Queen Street Baptist Evening Institute, presented research at the Mixed Methods Research Caribbean Conference at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica March 13.

The assistant professor of education presented on digital backchanneling at the North Carolina Technology in Education Society Annual Conference in Raleigh, N.C., on March 6.

The article title is "Beyond Pen Pals: Shared Readigns, Internet Tools, and Classrooms Oversees."

The associate professor of education and two inquiry mentee Teaching Fellows shared their research at the council's 2015 conference in Pinehurst, N.C.

Kathryn Osborn '14, a history with teacher licensure major, was selected Teacher of the Month for February at Southern High School in Durham, N.C.

The fourth annual Triad Intercollegiate Conference was held Feb. 21 on ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s campus with participating teacher education students from ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ, UNC-Greensboro, N.C. A&T and NC Central.

The assistant professors of education were involved in four different presentations at the AACTE Annual Meeting in Atlanta from Feb. 27-March 1, 2015.
