The head of an international nonprofit that makes homeownership possible each year for thousands of people speaks Tuesday evening with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ President Leo M. Lambert as the university begins a year of focus on service opportunities for future graduates.

Furman Moseley '56 met Friday with students in the Center for Access & Success to share his own memories of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ and to learn about their collegiate experiences made possible through scholarships he created.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ received the group's Carraway Award for preservation of the historic schoolhouse on the university's campus.

Heidi Hollingsworth, Assistant Professor of Education, and Mary Knight-McKenna, Associate Professor of Education, presented at the conference of the Division for Early Childhood (DEC) of the Council for Exceptional Children.

 

The School of Education held its Teacher Education Induction Ceremony on Tuesday, October 7 at 4:15 pm in McKinnon Hall section F.

 

The School of Education at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ is hosting an accreditation visit by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) on April 19 - 21, 2015, and your feedback is needed.

Amanda Ketner ’11, a math teacher at Woods Charter School in Chapel Hill, N.C., visited campus Oct. 2 with several students to hear husband-and-wife Pulitzer Prize-winners Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, whose book inspired her to create a chapter of Girls Learn International at the school.

Mary Knight-McKenna, Associate Professor of Education, and Heidi Hollingsworth, Assistant Professor of Education, presented at the International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement (IARSLCE) 2014 Conference.
