Alumni of the downtown Greensboro law school can register now for events from June 1-2 that include a CLE at the law school, an awards program to celebrate alumni professional achievement, and a luncheon for the Class of 2013 as it marks its five-year reunion.

The Women's Law Association recognized Manisha Patel L'11 and Karen McKeithen Schaede at its annual Professionalism Dinner on April 18, 2018, an evening that included a judges panel featuring women who serve on North Carolina's Court of Appeals and with the state's superior and district courts.

Former U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch and famed civil liberties attorney Alan Dershowitz will visit ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law in the next academic year as part of the Distinguished Leadership Lecture Series presented by the Joseph M. Bryan Foundation.

Judges welcomed students to the Robert E. Long Courtroom on April 11 before lawyers for a convicted drug trafficker argued that a search warrant in his case was constitutionally defective, while a separate case had attorneys seek a new civil trial for their client - a drunk bicyclist injured by a driver under the influence of marijuana. 

Jeremy Boissy L'18 recently completed a winter trimester residency with a U.S. District Court judge in his home state of New York. He shared insights of his experience for the first profile in an occasional series of stories on residency placements for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law's Class of 2018.

Ahmed Mohamed, Chris Tarpley and Tyrra Walker - members of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s Class of 2019 - accepted distinguished work placements as part of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Minorities in the Profession 1L Summer Associate Program.

Several student groups have organized programs from Feb. 19-24 to showcase the impact and importance of diversity in the legal profession.

The executive board and class representatives will help lead a governing body that serves as the umbrella organization for other law school organizations and committees.

Eighteen students traveled to South Africa for nearly two weeks of experiential learning in a course that compared the prison system in the United States with the one there.

As road conditions have improved but remain subject to freezing overnight and further clearing in the morning, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law will reopen Friday, January 19, at 12 p.m. Classes and activities scheduled to begin prior to noon are canceled.
