Carrie Vickery L'09 will be the first ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law alumna to preside from a bench after winning her campaign this month to serve residents of Forsyth County as a District Court judge.

The Guilford County Association of Black Lawyers awarded scholarships to Andreas Mosby L’17 and Vondella Smith L’17, and then presented a lifetime achievement award to retired North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Henry Frye, at its inaugural gala.

The Distinguished Leadership Lecture Series presented by the Joseph M. Bryan Foundation returns for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s 10th anniversary year with a November 2016 visit by NBC correspondent Ronan Farrow, followed in April 2017 by retired U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison.

Twenty-six students will help guide the school's Moot Court Program by participating in upcoming national contests and by coordinating ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law's own national moot court competition in April 2017.
