At Commencement Exercises for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s Class of 2014, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ trustee Gail McMichael Lane was presented with the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws in recognition of her extraordinary commitment to education and outstanding service to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ.

Members of the Class of 2014 at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law welcomed family members and friends to the law school on May 23 to celebrate achievements of the class on the eve of commencement ceremonies.

The American Bar Association Center for Racial and Ethnic Diversity and the ABA Young Lawyers Division announced on May 17 that ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s student-led Diversity Week won first place in the annual Next Steps Diversity Challenge.

As part of her semester-in-practice externship, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law student Caroline Johnson L'14 recently participated in the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Working Group V (Insolvency) meeting in New York City from April 23 - 25, 2014.

At ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s April Reception with the Legal Community, 34 students were recognized for significant pro bono and community service, including third-year law student Caitlin Cutchin who was recognized for contributing the most pro bono hours while at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ with 581 hours logged. 

Volume 6, Issue 1 of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Review is titled, “Emerging Issues in First Amendment Jurisprudence: Interpreting the Relationship Between Religion and the State in the Modern Age.”

Developed for students interested in practicing criminal law, especially in the area of white-collar crime, the forum featured Terry Meinecke, a prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice, and W. James Payne, a white-collar defense attorney.

Tyrone Davis L'14, a Leadership Fellow at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law, attended the President’s annual address on Jan. 28 as a guest of First Lady Michelle Obama, an honor the White House reserves for "extraordinary Americans who exemplify the themes and ideals laid out in the State of the Union Address." ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s Media and International Law Moot Court Team, comprised of Ben Kempton L’14 and Craig Martin L’15, advanced to the quarterfinals in the Americas Round of the Price Media Law Moot Court Competition, held at Cardozo Law School in New York, N.Y. The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ team’s performance in the Americas Round qualified them for the final International Round of the Price Moot, to be held in April at the University of Oxford in Oxford, England.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s Moot Court Board is pleased to announce the 20 members of the class of 2015 who have been selected for membership on the Board.
