Twenty professors and staff from colleges and universities across the U.S. and Canada returned to ������Ƶ last week for the latest segment of a two-year seminar exploring the complexities of teaching “democratic thinking.”

Peter Felten, assistant provost and director of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, recently presented at two international conferences.

Sport and Event Management faculty Tony Weaver, Hal Walker and Anne Marx presented research findings at the 25th Annual Conference of the North American Society for Sport Management in Tampa, Fla., held from June 1-5, 2010.

������Ƶ professors and students recently participated in the 10th Annual Summer Institute on Reacting to the Past at Barnard College in New York City.

Chris Leupold, an associate professor of psychology and faculty fellow for leadership studies, participated in the Eastern Conference on the Teaching of Psychology from June 18-19, in Staunton, Va.

������Ƶ faculty and student scholars will participate in a live online discussion entitled From Immersive and Service Learning to SoTL as honorees from the Lilly Greensboro 2010 Conference on Teaching and Learning. Representing ������Ƶ were Dr. Prudence Layne, assistant professor of English and coordinator of the African/African-American Studies Program (AAASE), along with five ������Ƶ student scholars associated with AAASE.

Christina Benson, Assistant Professor of Business Law at ������Ƶ, has received the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching for 2010.

Sophie Adamson, assistant professor of French, was presented with the Excellence in Teaching Award earlier this year by ������Ƶ College, the College of Arts and Sciences at ������Ƶ.
