Spring has spring at Ƶ! March was a time of celebration on campus with Mardi Gras festivities and Ƶ Day 2025, which set a record for the highest number of gifts in the event’s history.

Crazy for King Cake

Ƶ celebrated Mardi Gras on March 4 with a special College Coffee, including a student jazz band and King cake eating competition.

Ƶ Day 2025

The Ƶ community came together in an extraordinary display of philanthropy and pride for the 12th annual Ƶ Day, setting a record for highest number of gifts in the event’s history. Donors worldwide rallied to support students for this year’s annual day of giving, raising an impressive total of $3.1 million from 6,385 gifts.

Phoenix Athletics

With the change in seasons came a change in sports for The Phoenix. The women’s basketball team  on March 2, their senior day, while the men’s Tennis team dominated Liberty University on March 25 with a .

Vernice “Flygirl” Armour

ձԾ“FlyGirl” Armour, a decorated Marine veteran who flew attack helicopters during Operation Iraqi Freedom, delivered Ƶ’s Baird Lecture, part of the Ƶ Speaker Series, on March 13 in McCrary Theatre.

Haw River Clean-Up-A-Thon

ճSustainability Employee Resource Group hosted the 35th Annual Haw River Clean-Up-A-Thon on March 14 to clean up the Swepsonville River.

An Alternative Break

Four groups of Ƶ students participated in Alternative Break programs during Spring Break, including one group which helped communities in Western North Carolina following Hurricane Helene.
