ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s new lifelong education program began fall sessions Sept. 6 with a capacity enrollment of 200.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's new master of science program in physician assistant (PA) studies will be located on the university's main campus. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's board of trustees made the decision in a special vote on Jan. 5, following more than two months of study and fundraising efforts.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's new PA program, which enrolls its first class in January 2013, was featured in the July 25 edition of the Greensboro News & Record.

This September, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ will begin a new lifelong education program designed for people aged 50 and older. The learning institute, called LIFE@ELON, will feature weekly presentations conducted in interactive format. The learning community will be led by current and retired ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ faculty and staff members and other area educators.

Paul Miller, professor of exercise science and director of Undergraduate Research; Eric Hall, associate professor of exercise science; Mat Gendle, associate professor of psychology; and Steve DeLoach, professor of economics; attended the annual business meetings of the Council of Undergraduate Research in St. Louis, MO, June 14-18.

Tony Crider, associate professor of physics, has authored a guest column for the June 7, 2011 issue of Astronomy Beat, a publication of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific (ASP).

Hundreds of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students will be involved in activities during CELEBRATE! 2011, a weeklong celebration of student achievements in academics and the arts that begins April 26 and runs through May 2. Programs include seminars, art exhibitions, plays, a film festival, dance and music performances.

Michelle Trim published a chapter in the new anthology The 21st Century Motherhood Movement:
Mothers Speak Out on Why We Need to Change the World and How to Do It. Her chapter is titled, "Articulating a Rhetoric of Agency for Pregnancy Through Intersectionality: The National Advocates for Pregnant Women."
