Ƶ Law charter class job placement rate nearly 90 percent

Nearly 90 percent of the members of Ƶ School of Law's charter class were employed nine months after their May 2009 graduation. Based on criteria established by the National Association of Law Placement (NALP), Ƶ Law reported an 89.7 percent job placement rate for 2009 graduates as of February 15, the date set by NALP for all participating law schools to report employment data.

Articles by three Ƶ Law faculty members, exploring the question of whether judges in North Carolina should be elected or appointed, are featured in the Spring 2010 edition of The North Carolina State Bar Journal, along with a review of a public debate on the subject held at the law school in October.
Six Ƶ Law students initiated into William Hooper Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta

Ƶ Law's William Hooper chapter of the professional law fraternity Phi Alpha Delta initiated a third class of 6 members on February 23, bringing total membership in the chapter to 67. The chapter was founded in March of 2009.
Strategies for Dealing with a Charge of Patent Infringement – March 16

The Patent Law Committee of the NC Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Law Section and Ƶ Law will co-host a roundtable presentation concerning "Strategies for Dealing with a Charge of Patent Infringement." Prior to the roundtable, the Committee will provide a primer on patent law for students interested in the practice area.

Black Law Students Association leads Ƶ Law’s Black History Month initiatives

During the month of February, Ƶ Law's Black Law Students Association (BLSA) celebrated Black History Month by sending out weekly emails to the law school community paying homage to African Americans who had a positive impact on the social, legal, and economic conditions of the lives of Americans today.
Ƶ Law and MBA students travel to China, Hong Kong and Vietnam in collaborative international business course

Nine Ƶ Law students and nine MBA students from Ƶ's Martha and Spencer Love School of Business participated in a first-time collaboration through an international business course that included meetings with top business and law leaders in China, Hong Kong, and Vietnam.
Ƶ Open House at Ƶ Law – March 6

Ƶ School of Law will host an Ƶ Open House on Saturday, March 6, from 10 a.m. to noon. This event will give prospective students the opportunity to meet Ƶ law students, faculty, and staff; attend a mock law class; learn more about the unique characteristics of an Ƶ Law education; tour the facilities; and obtain information about our admissions process and financial aid. A light lunch will be served at noon.
