On Saturday, February 28, the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law team of Melanie Crenshaw and Luke Spencer finished in second place out of 24 teams at the J. Braxton Craven Moot Court Competition hosted by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law.

Glen Edward Chapman, an innocent man recently released from prison after over a decade on death row, spoke at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law on March 16 about his successful struggle to prove his innocence.

On Thursday, March 19, the North Carolina Court of Appeals will hold a special session of court at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law.

The Nathanael Greene Senate of professional law fraternity Delta Theta Phi will be holding its initiations at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law on Tuesday, March 17 at noon in the Robert E. Long Courtroom.

On February 26, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law students presented research on affordable housing strategies before a broad range of government officials and non-profit professionals at a regional housing summit in Greensboro, North Carolina.

On Thursday, March 12, OutLaw, a student organization at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law, will screen "Tying the Knot," a documentary about same-gender marriage, followed by a discussion led by Greensboro family law attorney Rebecca Perry.

On Friday, March 13, the William Hooper Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta will host its founding initiation ceremony at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law professor Steve Friedland has coauthored the book, "Inside Constitutional Law: What Matters and Why," released February 26 by Aspen Publishers.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law will host an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Open House from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Saturday, March 14 at the H. Michael Weaver building, home of the law school in downtown Greensboro, N.C., with a continental breakfast available at 9:30 a.m.

Former North Carolina Supreme Court Justice and ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law distinguished jurist in residence, James G. Exum Jr., has been honored with the 2009 John McNeil Smith Jr. Constitutional Rights and Responsibilities Section Award by the North Carolina Bar Association.
