What started eight years ago as a program for struggling young readers has evolved into a comprehensive literacy development project.

During this year's Summer in the Village, TLT provided children with the opportunity to play with green screen technology. 

The grant will allow the associate professor of education to work with two ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ professors on finding strategies that are helpful, culturally relevant and easy for families to use to foster their infant's language development.

The two-week summer program attracted 150 students in first through 12th grades to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's campus as part of the It Takes a Village Project. The camp combined academic instruction with areas including music, dance, technology and art. 

Many of â€‹Alamance County’s academically gifted students gathered at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ for continued learning.

The associate professor of education and director of the Teaching Fellows program co-authored the article in the journal Computers & Education.
