The N.C. Council for Teachers of Mathematics recognizes outstanding mathematics education students at colleges and universities across the state in an effort to encourage student enjoyment of mathematics and mathematics education.  

The pair presented about parallels between 21st century skills and exemplary mathematical teaching practices at the N.C. Council of Teachers of Mathematics conference.

The annual conference offers students professional development and networking opportunities. 

Jane Hinton, a deputy head teacher of the Brooke School in Warwickshire, United Kingdom, visited the students, faculty and staff in the School of Education.

Ann Bullock, dean of the School of Education, was selected to serve on the North Carolina edTPA Advisory Council.

Todd Wirt '98, superintendent of Orange County Schools and member of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Education Advisory Board, received the award from the N.C. Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development

Maeve Kenney is a senior elementary education and policy studies major at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ. She plans to become a teacher and continue to be an advocate for children and schools. Her point-of-view on the future of education was recently published in The News & Observer.
