A program inspired by the law school’s Alliance of Legal Pioneers and Supporters, with guidance from law faculty and ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s First-Generation Student Support Services, welcomed dozens of participants from around the globe to network and share common experiences.

An ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law residency-in-practice with judges of the North Carolina District Court in Guilford County helped Ayo Kuforiji L’21, who wants to eventually represent children at the center of legal disputes, better understand courtroom dynamics and processes.

A Zoom conference on April 16 aimed at creating a new alliance of first-generation law school students, and first-generation undergraduate students with interest in the legal profession, will feature panels of students and legal educators from across the nation.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Dua, Vanessa Garcia, Faisal Suman and Victoria Waddell from ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law's Class of 2022 will gain legal work experience this summer in placements through the North Carolina Bar Association's Minorities in the Profession 1L Summer Associate Program.

All undergraduate, graduate and law students must enroll in MFA using Duo Security, which follows the successful campus wide rollout for faculty and staff last fall.

Board members ensure the availability of multiple pro bono and community service opportunities to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law students, and services for community members with limited access to legal assistance.

The inaugural competition with a top prize of $200 for the winning essay prompts students to reflect on the current antiracism movement and what roles as future lawyers they have in the movement for equality and Black lives.
