As we enter August and Planning Week approaches, now is a great time to identify your next steps in Canvas. Whether you’ve already prepared your courses or are just getting started, every step you take can help you feel more confident teaching in Canvas this fall.

Before you continue, take a moment to with Canvas. This allows Canvas to deliver announcements, notifications, and student messages to your Outlook inbox.

Wherever you are in your Canvas preparation, there’s still time to make meaningful progress before classes begin. Use the quick check below to identify your next click. No matter where you are today, your next click is simply the next small step that moves you forward.

Your next click: , explore your dashboard, and become familiar with your teaching environment. Once you’ve logged in, your next step is to migrate one of your Fall courses so you can begin reviewing your content.

Most content transfers successfully, but reviewing your course now can help you identify any needed adjustments before classes begin.

Your next click: Publish your Canvas course so students can access it before or on the first day of class. Then, take a moment to recognize how far you’ve come. Publishing your course marks an important milestone in your Canvas preparation.

Use directly within Canvas for help with:

  • General Canvas questions
  • Troubleshooting technical issues
